Fat Removal

What is Fat?

Another name for body fat is adipose tissue. Individual cells are called adipocytes. Adipo- means fat and -cyte means cell. Primary fat that individuals have are called white adipose tissue which is a milky yellow colour. Another type will be brown adipose tissue that is orange/reddish in colour.

Non-essential fat is not needed to sustain life but is where there is excess and stored as energy. When this energy is not used or more calories are taken in daily than what you burn, you will gain weight. This will then be called excess fat. Fat can also be used as fuel in the form of energy; it can provide insulation against cold and protect your vital organs when forming coats around it.
Where there is excess adipose tissue in an area that is where problems can occur, it will make you fat or obesity can occur and can lead to serious health problems.

How to Get Rid of Excess Body Fat?

There are numerous ways, but here is some vital information to guide you in losing excess fat or to keep it under control:

• Exercise: this can help to reduce body fat. There are a lot of forms of exercise but high-intensity interval training is best known to reduce excess body fat.

• Diet: calorie intake is very important, a dietician can work out a proper plan according to your weight and height and what you want to weigh.

• Combining exercise and diet: exercise will help to reduce excess calories in the body and with a healthy diet you can help to take in the correct and healthy amount of calories. With
increased physical activity your body will burn excess fat that was stored. By maintaining these habits you can keep your weight under control.

Health Risks of Being Overweight:

Essential body fat is fat that is necessary for our bodies to function properly. Excess body fat is stored as energy and used when your body is in a starvation state. Essential body fat is stored in muscles, organs, central nervous system and bones. The correct amount to function properly for men and women are different. Women need more than men. Being overweight can cause many health risks and problems such as diabetes, heart disease, strokes and also lead to kidney and liver disease or even cancer. Excess weight gain during pregnancy may lead to problems for you and your child.

What About Stubborn Fat?

Liposuction generally works best on patients seeking to remove fat in a specific area, and is not recommended for serious weight loss. Laser assisted Liposuction is a body sculpting procedure and is a wonderful option for patients who have struggled with their body shape and have been unable to achieve results through other means.

Anyone interested in the removal of unwanted body fat is a candidate except for pregnant women. These fat deposits give rise to unwanted body shape and are often described by patients as “stubborn fat”.This is adipose tissue that you battle to get rid of even though you are exercising hard and controlling your diet/food intake.

For women this is common on the butt, hips and thighs. Men often complain from excess fat in the love handle areas.
