Modified Jessner’s Peel
This treatment tackles stubborn, reoccurring and life-demanding acne. It uses the power of Resorcinol to reduce the inflammation of cystic acne, killing the P-acne bacteria and clearing pores to enable the skin to breathe. The lactic acids will aid hydration and lighten evidence of post-inflammatory acne, evening out skin tone and texture. Reducing redness and providing an anti-inflammatory response, skin will look clearer and calmer.
What does it involve?
The peel involves the application of professional, chemical solutions to the skin in a controlled manner, producing controlled tissue death. As the damage is repaired by the body’s natural healing process, the skins appearance is renewed.
Is the treatment safe?
This is a safe, non-surgical procedure with no real downtime. However a period of 7-10 days flaking or skin peeling can be expected.
Is the Modified Jessner’s peel painful?
You can expect to experience a mild sunburn-type sensation during and up to 8 hours post treatment.
When will I notice results?
Immediately post treatment, the skin may be flushed with redness. Between days 2-7 the skin will become darker and the shedding process will begin.
Optimum results will be noticed after the light peeling has subsided, this is usually around 10 days post-treatment.
How many treatments will I need?
This is completely up to the concern being treated and the severity there of. During your consultation, your Aesthetician will give you a time line on what to expect. Usually a treatment plan of 4 peels are put in place.
