Thread Lift

What is a Thread Lift?

Embedded Threading involves using PDO (Polydioxanone) sutures to inject into the skin. This provides a lifting and smoothing effect.

Various thread lengths makes for a wide range of treatment options. The threads dissolve in a natural manner over a course of months, whilst synthesizing new collagen production in the treated area.

The skin will be smooth and bright, resulting in fewer wrinkles thus improving the skin’s overall texture and youthfulness.

The Thread Lift is well tolerated by patients, and there is no need for anesthesia.

Is there any preparation necessary before the procedure?

No anaesthesia is needed for this treatment.

Will it hurt?

There should be very little pain involved.

Is there bleeding?

There may be some bruising but minimal bleeding onto the skin.

How long does a procedure take?

It depends on how many threads are used, but generally it takes about 30minutes per patient.

Does the number of needles per wrinkle vary or matter?

We no longer chase wrinkles, but improve an area. Still the more damaged the skin is, the more threads will be needed to make a worthwhile difference.

Can the face be done in stages?

Yes definitely. But most patients can’t wait to treat the next area.

Are results permanent?

The results should be considered long lasting rather than permanent.

Will the procedure cause scars/bruising?

There will be no scars but bruising does often occur, particularly near the eyes or with larger threads.

Will I need to into seclusion for any length of time (hiding away/staying off work?)

It is a genuine “lunch time procedure”. Therefore no time off is required, even if you do get a bruise.

What are the primary positive aspects?

It is not as expensive as fillers.

It will last longer than fillers.

It is not as sore as fillers.

It is more natural than fillers with a lift, rather than volume.

It has a more positive effect on the skin.

Does Diabetes sufferers’ have any side effects?

No. The product stimulates healing and has anti infective properties.

When do you see optimum results?

Between 3 and 6 months.

How long do results last?

Around two years as your body will continue to age.

Is there a collapse of regenerated tissue after a period of time?

No, but the collagen you  produced will age with you.

What is the thread made of?

Polydioxanone which is the same material of the soluble surgical sutures which have been in use for over 30 years.

Can there be allergic reactions?

The product is hypoallergenic and allergies have not been a problem.

Can threads be removed?

There is no indication to remove a thread unless one has been injected too superficially, a small pimple can form and the thread can be pulled out with tweezers.

Why is this called non-invasive when skin is actually penetrated by needles and threads left behind?

No surgical incision is made and the injection is only very slightly sore.

Are there any dangers of infection?

The product is bactericidal and therefore infection is highly unlikely.

Any Aftercare?

After barbed threads are used on the face it is better to sleep on ones back.

Do I continue with normal Skin Care Products Use?

Avoid AHA’s for 48 hours, as there could be a possible penetration of the product into the injection points. If it does, it will just sting a little bit.

Will I have “numb” spots where procedures have been done?

Unlikely but if this were to happen it would be short lived (1 – 2 weeks).

Will I still be able to show facial expressions?

Yes absolutely.
