Facial threads have grown in popularity over the past few years and have become a well known trend amongst many other cosmetic enhancement procedures that are available in the aesthetic industry today. Many of you may have heard of the term ‘thread lift’ but might not be entirely sure of what exactly it all entails and if this possibly may be the answer to many of your concerns.

Why Threads??

Facial threads are safe and the minimally less invasive younger sister to traditional face lift procedures. Thread lifts create an instant lift within the skin and are most commonly used to reduce the appearance of sagging in the mid to lower face regions such as the cheeks, jaw line and neck area, other areas may include the eyes and knees. This procedure was designed to assist those that experience early signs of aging by lifting, contouring, and suspending tissue to eliminate sagging to deliver a rejuvenated, tighter and smoother looking skin. Facial thread lifts are the perfect alternative for those that have began the aging process but are not yet far enough to consider a surgical face lift and works well in combination with botox and fillers.

WHO should have Threads done?

and reposition the skin effectively. The threads contain small cones along its entire length and then lifted to create the desired result for the patient. The threads are easily inserted, leaving virtually no scarring with minimal downtime. The treatment is done within 30-60 minutes allowing you to resume your daily activities without anyone having to know where you disappeared to during your lunch break.

The specialized facial threads inserted into the skin are made up of an absorbable material that will slowly dissolve over the course of 6-12 months, leaving no excess material behind as they are broken down into a water base and will be easily absorbed by the body.

These same threads are utilized in cardio thoracic (heart) surgeries and are considered to be one of the safest materials that can be implanted into the body.

How soon will I see a result?

Results are often seen 2-3 weeks post procedure, but the best results develop within the first 6 months as newly formed collagen and fibrous tissue surrounding the threads will continue to tighten and volumize the skin. The effects of a thread lift may last up to 2 years and can easily be maintained by adding additional threads where needed every 6-12 months after that period to prolong the effects of the procedure.
