What will BBL™ Corrective treatment do?
BBL™ technology utilises the power of phototherapy to deliver excellent results in photo rejuvenation. By selecting the appropriate wavelength or filter, your skin specialist will be able to treat a broad range of skin conditions caused by skin ageing and sundamage. Your skin will be smoother, more vibrant and it will have a more youthful appearance as a result.

How does BBL™ Corrective work?
The light energy delivered by the BBL™ will gently heat up the upper layers of your skin. The heat absorbed by the targeted areas will stimulate your skin cells to generate new collagen. This photo rejuvenation will help restore your skin to its natural beauty by smoothing out an uneven skin tone, removing dark spots and stimulating collagen. In addition the photo thermal energy will target and eliminate many of the broken veins that cause redness and the unwanted melanin responsible for pigmentation and an uneven skin tone.
Which areas can be treated?
Sun damage and pigmentation can be treated on any area of the body. The most common areas are those most exposed to the damaging effects of the sun. The most popular treatments are forthe dark spots and veins on the face, neck, back of the hands, chest and shoulders.
How many treatments will I need?
From two to five treatments, at two to four week intervals will produce the desired results to treat your pigmentation.You may benefit from additional IPL or BBL™ treatments depending on the severity of your sun damage or pigmentation.
How long will it take for me to recover?
This depends on the severity of the damage. If you have lots of sun damage or severe redness/rosacea, the skin will be very dark or can be swollen for a couple of days. However most BBL™ or IPL procedures is non-invasive and gentle procedures with virtually no recovery time. In most cases you will be able to return to work, apply make-up, and resume most of your activities right away.
What should I expect after the treatment?
You may experience some redness that should resolve within a few hours. For some pigmented lesions you will see a darkening of the treated areas followed by fading and flaking off at a later stage. Your treated skin will feel smoother, fine wrinkles and pores will be less noticeable and sun spots, dark spots and uneven pigmentation will fade. Results depend on your condition, the number of treatments, and the area treated. Your skin specialist will recommend the best options during consultation.
What will happen during the procedure?
Your eyes will be protected with safety shields or glasses. You may briefly feel a rubber band snap or warm sensation as the light is absorbed by the targeted areas. Your procedure may take a few minutes to half an hour depending on the size of the area to be treated and the type of the procedure that is performed. Your skin specialist will discuss all of your options with you.
Will I need aftercare?
It is important to follow our aftercare instructions. You may be given some skin care products and instructions on how to use them. These will minimize your risk of inflammation or redness and ensure the shortest healing time and also aid with reaching the best result. You will be sensitive to ultra-violet light and you must avoid direct sun exposure to the sun until fully healed. Fully cover your skin or use a good sunscreen whenever you go outdoors.
